Our scientist friend, Semir’s hometown was devastated by the two earthquakes last night. He is raising funds with colleagues to support rescue and relief efforts:

Two terrible earthquakes hit southeastern part of Turkey, in particular my hometown Samandag and Hatay had a lot of damage with currently minimal rescue and support, leaving many friends and relatives under collapsed buildings and others outside in cold weather and fear.
