It sounded like a war zone at the BC ostrich farm as CFIA / agents / RCMP fired hundreds of rounds under cover of darkness to cull the healthy flock. They must have shot each animal multiple times or missed many times. It's very clear these birds suffered.
The CFIA along with the RCMP went about this cull in the most cruel and inhumane way possible. If they insisted on shooting them they could have at least had skilled snipers but instead they shot multiple times into the terrified flock, causing undue pain and suffering. 😱
As Scott Anderson pointed out this morning, millions of $$$ was spent to do this. The CFIA did it to cause maximum suffering of the ostriches, farm owners & protesters. This was not a humane cull. This was a mass slaughter to maximize terror.
