Terrific editorial by Renee Graham: MAGA says Bad Bunny isn’t ‘unifying’ enough to perform at the Super Bowl. We know what they really mean. bostonglobe.com/2025/10/12/opi…
Have Trump bootlickers at the Herald ever reported the cost of ICE detention centers, either running them or building new ones? How about plans by Trump insiders to privatize the prison business, so incarceration becomes an objective, not a solution? Has anyone thought this thru?

The Cult was magnificent at the Orpheum last night. These fans caught my attention. 🔥
Had the good fortune to meet Diane Keaton once, on a Mass Ave sidewalk in Cambridge in 1987. I was working at 1000 Mass Ave that year. She was filming a scene, in the Good Mother, directed by Bostonian Leonard Nimoy, as I recall, in a Bow St laundromat. 💔 bostonglobe.com/2025/10/11/art…
“Color Flows” vintage and new clothing market on Washington, Winter and Summer Street in Downtown Crossing is absolutely jamming. ❤️ If Trump (“Bone Spur”) sends the @NationalGuard to Boston, he’ll be embarrassing American troops. Ask military brass off the record. 🇺🇸

Historically through present day, the lion’s share of actual work at City Council — moving ordinances to passage — occurs among Councilors willing to collaborate and compromise, not trash colleagues in elected office week after week. That’s a plain fact.
A co-sponsor of this week’s Council resolution supporting BPD, writes, “It's long past time for elected officials to stop worrying about activists & support our BPD families.” The resolution passed unanimously. Every elected condemned the violent activists. Why sow division?

Good for Mayor Wu, pushing back on Trump/MAGA’s false narrative of a “city in chaos.” Herald spent all week focused on 2 teens who lit a cruiser on fire, and BPD arresting 13 protesters. Violence is never acceptable, but fear-mongering must also be recognized for its impacts.

Little to no indication of forward motion at Sally’s Apizza at 30 Thomson Pl, anticipated last year to open this fall. Fingers crossed that they’re still on track. 🤞🏼

Noteworthy. Great work, Councilor. 🔥

Temporary screening at former Congress Street Garage site.

Someone tell Shortsleeve that ICE’s detention facilities aren’t built and operated for free. On the contrary, they may be far costlier than the facilities Gov. Healey has been providing to house people on US soil through no fault of her own.

Below, my Globe comment (a reply to #1) regarding: “Trump’s policies have slashed SNAP eligibility and cut food aid. Boston food pantries are feeling the effects.” It goes hard at a callous commenter, but so be it. bostonglobe.com/2025/10/09/met…

Imagine this guy's former boss, Mitt Romney, fueling the Trump/MAGA "Boston in chaos" hysteria. Quite a shift in the electorate. Or maybe not... we'll see next year.

This parcel was trumpeted in the press as a 60,000 sq ft "Waterfront Cultural Center" for 1.5 years of permitting, an amenity promised by the developer of 401 Congress next door, winner of Massport's RFP. That Cultural Center evaporated without a single word in the press.
Progress seems stalled or sluggish on Seaport’s latest boondoggle on Massport land, a concrete pedestrian ramp from World Trade Center Ave down to a traffic island on Congress St. An island smack in the middle of the most daunting intersections for pedestrians and 18-wheelers.
