You should think often about eternity (Psalm 90:12). Time is ever-progressing toward that preordained moment when, barring Christ's return, you will see God face to face (Hebrews 9:27). Consequently, how you live your life today has eternal significance (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

It’s actually a dangerous thing to hear the Word of God and not apply it in your life. The golden key of spiritual growth is hearing, receiving, and obeying the Word of God.
Why study theology? 1. To know the character of God. 2. To serve the will of God. 3. To glorify the holiness of God. 4. To enjoy the attributes of God. 5. To love the perfection of God. 6. To absorb the Word of God. 7. To worship the person of God.

Jesus doesn’t exist to make you happy; rather you exist to give Him glory, which leads to joy and happiness.

All Scripture is profitable to accomplish at least 4 divine purposes (2 Tim 3:16): 1. "Teaching" right doctrine. 2. "Reproof" or confrontation of sin. 3. "Correction" of error. 4. "Training" believers for good work.

If your pastor isn’t teaching you the Bible, like actually opening a Bible- reading & teaching it EVERY week, do yourself a favor and find a new church.
The problem within many of the churches that exist within evangelicalism, particularly in America, is that no one sins anymore, God is no longer a God of wrath, and all one need do to get to heaven is die. That kind of "gospel" may tickle people's ears, but it will not save them.
