I’m building Cycle, an iOS finance app designed for clarity, calm, and healthier money habits.
Personally, I believe finance tools shouldn’t push people to act. They should help people understand.
Hot take: Most MVPs are already overbuilt.
It’s 5 AM. No rich parents. No resources. No degree. None of it matters. I’ll build everything from scratch.
Business is simple: • Find people with problems • Solve those problems • Get paid Don't overcomplicate it.
I visited Schönbrunn yesterday, the center of the Habsburg empire. It’s absolutely gorgeous but also holds quite an important historic lesson for the EU in my opinion. The Habsburgs managed to hold together a massive multi-ethnic empire for 600 years with two tools: -…
You are entering the final stages of undevelopment. The brain drain to dynamic economies will soon leave no technical workers on your shores. Tourism will soon be the largest contributor to your economic output. Your entire workforce will soon be educated in manufactured…
Hi everyone 👋 I’m Florian, an indie builder currently working on Cycle. Cycle is a calm iOS finance app focused on daily awareness instead of complex dashboards and constant optimization. I’m building it in public, sharing product decisions, UX thinking, and SwiftUI progress…
Finance apps don’t just show numbers. They shape how people feel about money.
For me personally: I’m not trying to build the most powerful finance app. I’m trying to build the calmest useful one.
More charts ≠ more clarity. Sometimes, less information leads to better decisions.
Quick question for the finance community: What actually helps you feel in control of your money? • daily check-ins • detailed charts • strict budgets • something else? I’m building Cycle around simplicity and clarity - curious what works for you.
One thing I keep reminding myself while building Cycle: Every screen should answer one question - not five. Especially in finance apps, less information often leads to better decisions. Calm UX isn’t about aesthetics. It’s about respect for attention.
Managing money is already stressful for many people. Tools should reduce that stress — not amplify it. I’m building Cycle with that idea in mind. What makes a finance app feel supportive instead of overwhelming to you?
Adding a new account in Cycle. This screen is intentionally simple. Name, starting balance, account type — nothing more than what’s actually needed. I want setting up finances to feel calm, not like filling out a form marathon. No pressure, no noise — just a clear starting…
I want to share why I’m building Cycle. I’ve always tried to manage my money responsibly. But most finance apps I used made it feel like a constant task — too many numbers, too many features, too much pressure to “optimize”. Over time, I realized the problem wasn’t motivation…
Account details in Cycle. This screen is about trust and clarity. Your balance, account type, IBAN, and visibility settings — all in one place, without visual noise. I’m intentionally keeping this view simple. No charts, no distractions, no pressure to act. Just the information…
I’ve been looking for a finance app that doesn’t push, but accompanies. One that doesn’t judge, but makes things visible. Cycle. is my personal attempt to find a calmer relationship with money. No goal. Just direction.
