Grief is like the ocean; it comes in waves, ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.


All of the coffee? Gone. Diana? Unhappy. This peaceful morning? Ruined. Why had no one warned her that caffeine was so addictive? Now, in all of her grogginess, poor Diana had to leave the comfort of her home and face the dreaded supermarket.


The strongest are not those who show strength in front of us— But those who win battles we know nothing about.

It was too quiet, although, perhaps quiet was not the correct word. The chirping of the crickets, the cars that passed by, all of the minuscule sounds that people learned to block out were there, but not heard. Not quiet. Lonely.
