Curt Cignetti has a fascinating philosophy...don't waste anyone's time, coaches not expected to work nights just get work done, limited practice to keep players healthy
Kudos to those brave enough to ask their hook defender to carry a true slot WR vertical with a cloud corner; I am not in their ranks. Especially in HS.
Vertical Hook carrying a seam in Cover 6 by Lorenzo Styles. Can be a rough position to be in, but does a great job of trying to get back in phase with the ball in the air. Get access to more Breakdowns and Analysis of the Buckeyes inside the Fans Circle and Video Library. Fans…
If you are a HS player and want to play for me in the future....I will need to see you AT CAMP IN THE SUMMER....98% of the time I will sign a guy that camped....if you go to a G5 camp instead of mine in the summer....I will not be available for you in the late fall 😅
This is such an underrated aspect of defensive football.
We're bring safeties down into the box with no development time on reading blocks or lineman flow to defeat blocks and get to the ball carrier. This will kill your scheme. Don't ask players to do things they can't / do not know how to do !!
I can absolutely see this happening, and- overall- it's awesome. But coaches will always have to somehow "touch" and interact with the data in order to gain actual understanding of tendencies. That's how we see the picture.
Here’s 3 things AI will do for football coaches: 1. AI will pull data directly from video and place in a database. No more humans entering data. We’ve been testing this now and found AI can identify the basic data from a play (run/pass, gain/loss, etc) with good accuracy. 2.…
Tough to play with 7 guys dropping. I’d rush 3 and drop 8. One ILB has the low hole, the other one is the pole runner/Tampa dropper.
How do you defend the back out of the backfield on this route in “your” Cover 2?
The "every kid gets a Chromebook" idea has been a failure. Test scores are down. Screens are bad for learning. Plus kids use school-issued devices to watch streaming services, YouTube, and even porn. My latest in @nytimes: nytimes.com/2025/11/16/opi…
Trying something new in my classroom today: we are writing an essay completely technology-free. Students may only use their textbook and notebook to draft a text-based expository essay. I am tired of fighting against AI: hopefully, this will ensure genuine writing.
Similar to Nate Woody's "Maggie."
Rams running a Red Zone Stubbie (Special/Mini) with a "Poach" Safety backside vs. the Jaguars. The CB & LB to the Nub-TE & RB play an "In-Out" concept. --
Awesome win last night. Very proud of how my players stepped up against a really good offense. Probably the most disciplined we played this year yet.
I’ll never understand why some HS secondary coaches have their CBs in a press stance only to immediately open their hips vs a vertical release. It turns into a track meet every time.
