NEW PROJECT 🥳 The uRESTART project (502 080.08 €, Mar2030 funding) was just approved. This project aims to develop nature-based solutions using marine🌊 bacteria🦠to improve salt marsh restoration. Stay tuned! @cienciasulisboa @MAREscience @BioISI @CE3CResearch @GPS_Lab
Yesterday, we were at Agrifood Open Day'24 (@bgiaccelerator, @Food4Sustainab1, @EITFood), talking about how marine🌊microbes🦠can help solve the major threats in agriculture🚜. ▶️Available at: tinyurl.com/2tzk7rnu @cienciasulisboa @MAREscience @BioISI @GPS_Lab @unisevilla
The GPS Lab and the LCP-A2MC were granted with the 2023 Franco-Portuguese Hubert Curien Partnership (‘Pessoa Program’). This grant will promote personal exchanges between the labs of the two countries to address complex biological questions through grapevine metabolomics.
The Editor’s Pick from our latest issue has been picked up by nearly 70 news outlets so far! @FerRomeroGalvan et al. used an airborne instrument, developed at @NASAJPL, to detect nonvisible viral infections in #grapevine from the sky! 🛰️ 🔓 Learn more: doi.org/10.1094/PHYTO-…
This week we add the first harvest of our “sea” 🌊 grapes 🍇 from grapevines inoculated with our little friends, the marine bacteria 🦠 and the first batch of wine 🍷 with an oceanic imprint is under production already! Stay tuned! @FC_UL @MARE_centre @BioISI @GPS_Lab

Dive deep into the apoplast! In our new focus issue, Plasmopara viticola proteome in planta are reported and analyzed during host-pathogen interaction for the first time, thanks to Joana Figueiredo et al. Open for a limited time: doi.org/10.1094/PHYTO-… @RitaBSantos
What may happen when sea meets grapevine? Stay tuned for exciting research! @Lemos_lab @BioISI @FC_UL
We have established a method for the analysis of fatty acids in grapevine leaves’ apoplastic fluid. We also point out a novel intracellular marker that may be used to assess apoplastic fluid purity. See our most recent publication 🍇👩🔬 lnkd.in/dfU3MPmE
Thinking about tailoring vineyard microbiome.. what if marine bacteria could help? We have used a bacteria isolated from Seville southmarshs to improve grapevine resilience to heat wave stress! Results are surprising! To read more: mdpi.com/2076-2607/11/4…
What if marine🌊bacteria🦠could help grapevines🍇to overcome heat waves🌡️? Well, they actually can🎉! Another great work together with @GPS_Lab and @unisevilla. Read it out in our most recent paper: mdpi.com/2076-2607/11/4… @FC_UL @MARE_centre @BioISI @Micro_MDPI
