This is an animating value of GSA Teaching Network & German Studies Collaboratory – to provide spaces where we can share syllabi and assignments, with an emphasis on acknowledging the intellectual work involved in teaching by giving attribution when we adapt ideas from others.
Let’s make it a habit to put @creativecommons licenses on our syllabi. This will reinforce that a syllabus is intellectual work that merits credit and attribution and is also part of scholarly comminication. (I do public domain but I know that’s not for everyone).

Yesterday, June 27, Alon Confino, my dear friend, brilliant scholar, and true humanist, passed away following a difficult illness. This is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, and the entire scholarly community, as well as to me personally. May his memory be a blessing.
