The word 'funding' in and of itself is disingenuous. SpaceX bids for service contracts. They typically have offered the most compelling cost and delivery and yet our feckless Gov still awards contracts to SpaceX competitors. Tesla is the most American made autos, will soon also…
One of my generation’s great theologians, J. I. Packer, is now in the presence of the Lord he loved, worshiped and served. His book, Knowing God, is a modern classic. Here’s a tribute worth reading: J. I. Packer: A Personal Appreciation from Ray Ortlund thegospelcoalition.org/article/j-i-pa…

There are few things in the world that are pure and good and true all the way through. This is one of them.
St. Valentine was imprisoned beheaded & buried on 14 Feb 269 AD for helping persecuted Christians & marrying Christian couples! While in prison he prayed for his jailer’s daughter & her blindness was healed. On the day of his execution he left her a note signed, ‘Your Valentine.’
"I am not afraid that the people called Methodists should ever cease to exist... I am afraid lest they should only exist as a dead sect.. This undoubtedly will be the case unless they hold fast both the doctrine, spirit, and discipline with which they first set out." John Wesley
It’s one thing to be grateful. It’s another to give thanks. Gratitude is what you feel. Thanksgiving is what you do.
“Abraham! Abraham!” (Gn 22) “Jacob, Jacob.” (Gn 46) “Moses, Moses!” (Ex 3) “Samuel! Samuel!” (1 Sa) “Martha, Martha.” (Lk 10) “Simon, Simon.” (Lk 22) “Saul, Saul” (Acts 9) Sometimes God has a hard time getting our attention, but... #divinepersistence #Godknowsyourname
"You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him & kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet & call him Lord & God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." #CSLewis
I wouldn’t say ‘not a chance’ but this gives a good perspective of what we are up against.
If Jesus spent 8 hours a day, every day, for 3 years with his disciples, he would have spent over 8,000 hours with them. And after all that time, they still had significant gaps! And we think 1 hour a week on Sunday morning is gonna change people? Not a chance.
Idolatry is our desire to domesticate God so that he can be useful without being a nuisance.
