Sunday review: #RobReiner directed great films and played memorable characters. One was a fast-talking minor league QB on a “Rockford Files” episode. His name was “King Sturdevant”, but he was every bit #Terps football legend King Corcoran. My column. washingtontimes.com/news/2025/dec/…

I’m Damon Brooks Jr., a paraplegic in D.C. I’ve faced repeated caregiver negligence—sleeping on duty and missed care—that put my health at risk. People with disabilities deserve safe, attentive care. Please share, RT, and like.

Nail on the head from Josh: “No, FSG wasn’t a disaster. But it made a mistake that doesn’t tend to fly in Pittsburgh: It was corporate with a capital C.” Relationships might not mean anything to most anymore. They still do in Pittsburgh, and it’s why it endures as it has.

FSG didn’t fail Pittsburgh. That wouldn’t be accurate. But Fenway never connected with Pittsburgh. It was far too corporate for that to ever happen. Some friendly advice to the Hoffmann Family. Be real, not corporate. And give No. 66 a call. My column: nytimes.com/athletic/68972…

Saddened to learn of the death of Garrett Ford '64 (right). Pictured here with the late Brendan McCarthy '64. The two would also start in the same backfield with the Denver Broncos. Garrett is in the DeMatha Hall of Fame. He had an excellent career in college at West Virginia.

FINAL: No. 1 Michigan 101 Maryland 83 Terps led at half, but loss of Pharrel Payne to injury and Solomon Washington to ejection opened up inside for Michigan, who took advantage (along with some favorable second-half officiating calls). Big Ten play resumes Jan. 2 vs Oregon.

Yaxel Lendeborg, as advertised. 16 points in this half, 29 in total. Michigan leads 82-73, 8 to go

Diggy Coit has 25 points, but hasn't scored since the first minute of this half. That's not a slight against him, but he may need 45-50 if Maryland is going to win.

Michigan, a team beating opponents by 30 PPG and playing vs. team missing its only star, probably doesn't need phantom techs to win.

Solomon Washington's second technical foul this game after a made Maryland basket has earned him an ejection. Terps are rattled as Michigan rattles off an 8-0 run and trails 56-55.

At the HALF: Maryland 50 No. 1 Michigan 45 Coit 22pts (7-13, 6-9 3PT) Rice 12pts (4-6, 2-3) Terps 48.5% FG, 55% 3PT Lendeborg 11pts, Mara 10 pts This ragtag Terps lineup, battered all season (including tonight) by injury, leads the best team in America by 5 after 20 minutes.

Diggy Coit already has 20 points. He scored a career-high 41 earlier this year (an overtime game) against Mount St. Mary's. It's not even halftime. Somehow Maryland leads 45-43 (50% shooting will help that). There's too many things going on.

A bad looking injury for Maryland forward Pharrel Payne, who limped off the court not putting any weight on his right knee (which was already in a brace/sleeve) after a collision on the offensive end of the court.

Navy quarterback Blake Horvath accounted for 189 yards with a rushing score and a fourth-and-goal touchdown pass to Eli Heidenreich as the No. 22 Midshipmen came from behind to beat the Black Knights, 17-16, in the 126th Army-Navy Game Saturday. washingtontimes.com/news/2025/dec/…

And now, the nightcap in College Park, where Maryland faces No. 1 Michigan. Biggest crowd of the season with fans still filing in.

FINAL: Navy 17 Army 16 Horvath 82yds passing, 107 rushing, Rush/Pass TD, INT, FUM Hellums 82yds passing, INT; 100 yds rushing, Rush TD Army's 16-7 lead doesn't hold. Mids win the CIC Trophy for the second-straight season behind Horvath's fourth-down strike to Heidenreich.
