This is exactly why I prefer @decredproject's privacy implementation over everything else. StakeShuffle simply mixes UTXOs at the protocol level but does not render the chain unauditable. Privacy tech is extremely nuanced and most newcomers are blind to the tradeoffs.
And on that point specifically, if some cryptographic failure undoes Bitcoin, certainly no one is going to trust a wildly more complex and black box coin that ALREADY had a massive cryptographic failure that led to a (likely unexploited) inflation bug. Privacy is the enemy of…

It is currently impossible to pull off a 51% attack against the Decred network due to its hybrid PoW/PoS consensus model.
Not trying to spread FUD, but these are real tradeoffs to consider. Again, security is where Decred stands out. It's currently impossible to 51% attack the PoS element in the @decredproject network From a security standpoint, I dislike any pure PoW coin that isn't Bitcoin.
