Star Trek Picard Season 3 is good. Sometimes really good. You can start there. I did not see season 1&2 and feel like I've not missed a thing (by all accounts, I missed something average). Season 3 is Next Generation fetishism, but also mighty fine overall Star Trek. Recommended.
"Honey, are you really applying to be an assistant manager at a restaurant?" "Yeah, Phuket, why not."
The Orca is pretty fascinating. Obviously highly intelligent and social. A brutal team hunter. Scourge of the top sharks of the sea. Yet Orcas native to different hemispheres don't squeak the same language and can't (immediately) understand each other. Some common body lingo.
I'm down to about 5-6 minutes looking at/reading Twitter per day. It does the body good. Check some of your level-minded, reliable favorites, and call it a day. To me, anyway, the platform's headlines and the willful ignorance and casual toxicity has become a tacky turn off.
Watched Top Gun Maverick again. It's kinda' one of the 'Perfect Movies'. Impeccably solid. Up there with Mad Max: Fury Road, Children of Men, probably Alien, Dark Knight, Dune, Everything Everywhere All At Once, a few others. I also adore Isle of Dogs - a 'perfect' one to me. 🐕
Andor is so damn good. A grim, bright slow burn, and wonderful looking. So much insight into the inner workings of SW factions. So many regions. Rock solid writing and performances. One of the best properties to come out of this factory over the last decade.
Been boiling huge batches of broccoli & quinoa in natural vegetable broth, then packing away in fridge. So useful. Simply add chunks of your veggie/meat protein of choice, and it's a super nutritious meal. Quinoa is great for keeping you feeling full and satiated for hours. ☑
Scene in the Firestarter remake where she says, "Liar liar, pants on fire" then torches the person... I laughed. The tone was all over the place. Zac Efron's character was bizarrely cynical. Old dude asks him, "Are you telling me the TV lied to me?" Zac yells, "Shocker, I know!"
You look at this train station attack in Ukraine, the constant civilian targeting... how the hell did the Russian Federation keep any role/any messaging whatsoever at the UN? /boggles mind
RIP Ivan Reitman.🌌 My childhood was entertained by his many films.
Man, Boba ep.5 just *looks* so damn good. Clearly an expensive episode. And quite entertaining.
Psycho Goreman still cracks me up every time. One of my favorite smaller films in recent years.
Solid. #shangchi looking at $128 million global so far, which is pretty strong in pandemic era. I saw it the other day and walked away very entertained. Great origin story, ample wackiness/humor, and massive stylish battles.
The US TV/cable news networks have their pros and cons during these extreme times in that country, but I usually like this fella's US field reporting packages for CNN. He has a lean, but asks questions in a friendly way and gets some pretty real responses.cnn.com/videos/media/2…
OK, time for #FreeGuy We crave something colorful and explosive to generate silly smiles on a Saturday afternoon at the cinema.
