The silence is deafening. Not just from ministers (I expected that) but from Labour’s extensive fan base of MPs and media. I understand one of the reasons Starmer left with an empty begging bowl is that the whole trip was only approved at the last minute — after Starmer had…

I’m doing Times Radio live from London all next week. Perhaps you or one of your ministers could come on air and explain the ‘billions in deals’ you’ve done while in China? I clicked on the ‘details’ link you provided. But there are none. Just more flannel. Failing a minister…

NO Kim- simply NO! The clue is in the title- irs a private member’s bill and it is NOT a Government bill. There is no duty for Government to do anything with this bill particularly as it was not in the Labour manifesto. It is riddled with difficulties and it should fall.

Can you please provide details of the billions in export and investment deals you claim to have done with China. Other than China cutting the tariff on whisky — worth a mere £250m spread over 5 years to an industry which exports over £5bn every year — I can’t find any. Where are…

Four days, two cities, countless conversations: billions in exports and investment deals for Britain.

Time that @kimleadbeater & @Keir_Starmer recognise that their attempts to get this non-manifested Starmer legislation through under the guise of a Private Members Bill has been shown for what it is, and just drop it now it won't get passed! The public don't want this!!!

No it 100% does not. It’s a dangerous and risky bill that poses serious risks to vulnerable people, that its proponents have ignored.

Leadbetter's conduct throughout this process has helped persuade me that her bill really does not deserve to pass. The government has precisely *no* obligation to help her pass her (very flawed) bill.

Another week, another @itvnews attack on NHS corridor care when the so called journalists know there is no chance of improvement in the minimal timeline between their cheap, lazy reporting! Most of the reporters, rehashing the same content are simply the worst of their profession

Oh dear oh dear. Chris really struggling to explain why now what he said was a ‘great injustice’ is no longer. No wonder the public struggle to believe politicians

🚨BREAKING! After a two-hour debate with numerous peers supporting face-to-face appointments being the default for assisted suicide applications, Lord Falconer REFUSES to include such a presumption in his Bill. DEATH BY ZOOM now seems a real possibility if the Bill becomes law!

Baroness Falkner slams Lord Falconer's claims that a few Peers are filibustering the assisted suicide Bill. In fact, many more Peers wish to speak on all amendments to scrutinise the Bill, but avoid further delay by holding back to let those more expert articulate it for them.

Absolutely shameful - @Telegraph reveals our Prime Minister worked with disgraced lawyer Phil Shiner to weaponise the ECHR against British troops in Iraq. The PM has a moral duty to explain to those veterans who were wrongfully pursued, exactly what he did and why.

I do object to Lord Falconer sneering at those who have religious objections to his awful bill. We live in a pluralist mainly tolerant society where religion is a protected characteristic. So what if that is what informs some opponents? Are people’s views less worthy of respect?

I’m disgusted by the repeated attempts to frame desire for proper scrutiny as being some sort of subversion of process due to ‘undisclosed religious beliefs’. I don’t care what people’s beliefs are - but I do care about our parliamentarians doing their job properly which is…

My comment to the Times: To use the Parliament Act to force through legislation on one of the most controversial & divisive conscience issues that any of us will face in our time as Parliamentarians would be a grossly unjust use of parliamentary procedure thetimes.com/article/78746a…
