I don’t know what consequences in New York State there are with the Bar Association, but in my state, if an attorney is indicted for a crime like Ms. James, her license to practice law would be immediately suspended pending disposition of the case. Does anybody know ?

Mortgage fraud or any other kind of bank fraud undermines the safety and soundness of the banking system. It significantly increases the risk of losses which diminish capital needed to protect depositors, reducing confidence in the banking system and the economy.
