Great shots. Disappointingly, a number of modern structures have been built within the fort for use as a film-set. Grrr.

Got out to Argyll last week for some drone survey and one of the more striking sites was Dun Chonallaich. Large sections of walling still survive as well as some more modern structures. An early medieval gaming board was found amongst the scree in the 1980s #HillfortsWednesday

...and how is it dated to within AD80-150 at all. That's a very specific range. More info from @NtlMuseumsScot on this object would be veeeery interesting.

How is this dated? The glass looks so perfect. Is there signs of a workshop or is it dated by association with other objects?

Powered by Yorkshire Tea ( or its earliest incarnation ) those Romans.

Ohhhh no. Illusions shattered. I'm just going to need to pretend I didn't read this. Luckily 'Macbeth's Castle' on Dunsinane Hill definatley pre-dates him.

Ever explored the earthworks at the Peel Ring of Lumphanan? Once believed to have been the seat of Macbeth, excavations later revealed it was built 200 years after his death. Nonetheless, Macbeth's Stone, Macbeth's Well & Macbeth's Cairn are all close by. #ShakespearesBirthday
