and if there's parts of the web platform that lack capability/perf on mobile (clearly there is!) we should FIX those. not go back to native.
the only way to free yourself from the tyranny of mobile platform lock-in is to use the only truly ubiquitously embraced tech: HTML5 & JS.
that's what people who say "native only" (or even "native mostly") suggest is a prudent path for mobile dev. it's crazy.
can you imagine how much the web would suck if every browser had their own UI widgets and flavor of JS, and you had to write diff to each?

i do not hate flash. i just think the time is long come to retire it. time to move on. holding onto it too long will hurt the platform.
…so, i think it's a lesser evil to ditch flash, lose some features (for a little while) and move forward...
