Summer 2017 group of students from Region 4 Valley Regional HS (Chester, Deep River, Essex) travelled to Deschapelles w/parents to share love of robotics. Group spent nearly a week working w/15 children ages 8-14 on how to build a robotic tractor (the Track3r) and maneuver it.
Like many libraries in U.S., Bibliothèque Communautaire Deschapelles closed due to COVID-19. Library gradually reopening w/ Covid-19 protocols in place, i.e. wearing masks, social distancing & handwashing. Protocols implemented in coordination with @FOKAL_Ayiti
Library Update 9/2020 witnessed installation of flushable toilets, solar electrical system & solar pump. Installed w/ appreciation to local orgs & individuals, e.g., Essex CT @Rotary & Essex CT high school senior raised funds for solar pump by completing odd jobs for people
