Exactly right. Cognitive dissonance, suicidal empathy, willful ignorance, political correctness, and being historically uninformed, all combine to make people a special type of stupid.

We must not use leftist talking points. As Charlie Kirk said: "Hate speech does not exist legally in America. There's ugly speech. There's gross speech. There's evil speech. And ALL of it is protected by the First Amendment. Keep America free."

French senator perfectly describes the Trump situation.

Everything we've seen since Jan. 20., 2025 has driven home the point that hundreds of thousands of us commenting here have brought up time and again: Biden, Sullivan, US, please stop slow walking support of Ukraine. Surely, Russia winning is the worst possible outcome.

Pete Hegseth, US Secretary of Defense started off his European tour by handily convincing us that he's as dumb as rock. However during a follow up presser he made clear that, indeed that is not the case. Yes, he's considerably dumber than a rock. How can this be real?

The deterrent way to respond to Russia's initial nuclear rattling was to say: We intend to supply Ukraine against your breach of previous treaty obligations with an obscene genocidal war on Ukraine. Any mention of nuclear weapons will result in accelerated support to Ukraine.

40 years ago marks the start of a Chess World Championship match that didn't end but was cancelled after 48 games played over 5 months ... In 1985 the match was rebooted, concluding in Kasparov prevailing over Karpov. I've met Spassky & Fischer, but alas not Kasparov. Go Garry!

Posting a few thoughts and clips on the 40th anniversary of the start of my first World Championship match. If you are old enough to have your own memories of it—and young enough to remember them—please share!
