Today, students had the opportunity to meet @TolaOkogwu! She shared her motivation for writing the Onyeka series, engaged the students in a superhero-themed experience, and showed us the importance of celebrating books and reading!
Year 7 enjoyed an exciting library lesson with a Black History Month treasure hunt! We hope that the search for books, historical figures and characters created by prominent black authors will deepen their understanding of Black British culture and history. #BlackHistoryMonth

On Thursday, students wowed us with their World Book Day costumes! It was amazing to see so many characters come to life in our school! Happy World Book Day!
On Wednesday, we welcomed Ben Lyttleton to HAWI. He transformed our school into a Football School: we learned about geography, engaged in drama, sang and danced some Samba, and tested our knowledge of football rules. It was a fantastic day, and the students loved it! @benlyt
