We are incredibly happy to announce that Hawke Commercial Filmmaking has been selected for a Best of Massachusetts Award on the website UpCity! We always make great efforts to prioritize client relations, and it's wonderful to see this incentive pay off.

After a successful partnership with Dell, JetCool needed a video to showcase their cooling solutions, and we were happy to help. With a quickly approaching deadline, we had to move fast with two camera setups. Big thanks to producer Jed Hamme, who kept the day running smoothly.

Recently, we filmed several interviews in Boston for Canadian production company IDEA FACTORY. This type of contracting work is actually very common. In fact, their team joined us on the shoot, ensuring everything matched their style and they could capture the needed content.

We may be called “Hawke Commercial Filmmaking,” but we often take video and photos at the same time. Back in August, we were hired to take videos and photos for the School of the Environment at Yale, as their students learned about forestry management. Let's hear it for teamwork!

Earlier this week, we had the wonderful opportunity to film an interview between British Consulate Peter Abbott and retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. Pitched as a new British Consulate social media campaign, we are looking forward to seeing the series posted.

Last month, we lent out our studio space to one of our longtime friends and talented director, Mike Dennis. We try our best to always make our studio a multifaceted and highly adaptable space so that anyone (ourselves included) can quickly transform it into whatever is required.

Sometimes you need a studio for voice overs, FAST. We ran into this situation recently where some ADR was needed, but no recording studio was open. Thinking on our feet we assembled a makeshift recording space. The result may not look the prettiest, but the audio sounded great!

Recently we produced an internal training video for TeamSTEPPS, an organization that helps promote teamwork, safety, and communication within healthcare settings. Given how important every second can be for healthcare workers, videos like these can be a literal lifesaver.

Last week we posted an article discussing businesses building their own in-house media studios. This week we thought we would highlight a studio building project we helped with directly; revamping the media space at Dana-Farber Cancer Insitute. We hope they enjoy the upgrades!

This week we want to take a look at an exciting shoot we did for Plastic Pictures, a production company in the UK. Because their client is in Boston, they partnered with us to record footage locally rather than sending their crew across the Atlantic. It was a great experience!

Few pieces of video gear are more ubiquitous and multifaceted than the humble apple box. These simple wood boxes have many uses but are usually placed under something to prop or lift it up. They can also make decent seats in a pinch (we've even seen them used as pillows).
