Ventura Missionary

As we gathered on Sunday before launching into this week of prayer and fasting, several from our church family stood and prayed for each of our four goals for this next season of ministry, and some stayed after the services to pray, as well. Let’s keep praying!

On Sunday, Caleb shared his amazing rescue story. It was a fitting as we launched into a series in Exodus. Pastor Doug said, “Exodus reminds us that like God rescued back then, He’s still rescuing today.” Full message, including Caleb’s story here: buff.ly/6nBseAZ

We're excited about Midweek launch this coming Wednesday, Jan 14. Midweek, our opportunity to grow closer to God and more like Jesus, takes place on Wednesdays for kids & adults. People have been registering in our lobby/online. Still time to do that here: buff.ly/zs2xLED

On Sun, we honored Pastor Scott & his wife, Kara, for their ministry at Ventura Missionary. Pastor Scott will be transitioning off our staff team. Words can't begin to describe the impact our he's had here. This Sun, he'll be preaching in one family friendly service at 10 am.

Power has been restored, so we will resume our original plan: 3 Service Options - 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm with KidsZone for birth-3rd grade during both services, and 5:00 pm with childcare for birth-age 3. Come celebrate the birth of Jesus with us!

The power is out at Ventura Missionary. If this continues, we'll adjust our Christmas Eve Services as follows: Our 2 & 3:30 pm services will still take place. Kids will join their families. The 5 pm service will be canceled. If power is restored, we will revert to original plan

Thank you to all who were a part of Giving Christmas Away to our friends at The City Center transitional living center! You purchased gifts, wrapped gifts, served at and contributed financially toward a Christmas party for the residents of this wonderful place!

So great to honor Bob and Lynne Klamser. Bob founded Crisis Consulting International which works with missionaries, and missions and government agencies in the areas of safety & security and hostage negotiation. Bob and his team have been involved in the rescue of 200+ people.

Our Tree Lighting Kickoff to Advent was jam-packed with a flurry of activities, music, meaning...and snow. People of all ages enjoyed this special evening hosted by our church, school and preschool on Sunday. We celebrated the advent of hope, peace, joy, and love through Jesus!

Guess what incredible evening is just 1 week away! Our Tree Lighting event for all ages on November 30 will help you kick off the advent season right - with tons of free fun at the Pre-Party from 4:00-5:00 pm…crafts, carols, gifts, Journey to the Manger, cake walk, and more!

This church family is amazing at “Giving Christmas Away!” Lots of Christmas gifts for kids at The City Center transitional living center were adopted on Sunday. You can still grab a card this Sunday. Follow the instructions and return by November 30.

On Sunday, it was so special to be a part of families committing to raise their children to follow Jesus and as a church family to partner with them in that endeavor. Five children were dedicated!
