Great point and conversation starter

We sat down to eat dinner tonight and asked our kids “what questions do you have about what’s happening around us?”. We didn’t ask if they had questions, they always have questions. Invite the conversation... help create external thoughts, not internal dialogue.

Love this idea. Even think to yourself is their a kid I haven't heard enough from? Can't wait to share with others.

Have a student you're struggling with? Try the 'two-by-ten' strategy: For two minutes each day, 10 days in a row, have a personal conversation with the #student about anything the student is interested in. Wonderfully simple and wildly effective. #edchat #education

Love using math strategies saving for when my child is in 4th or to enrich my 3rd graders

Here are 3 written multiplication strategies avoiding the pain of carrying digits that comes with vertical/chimney sums. @CountOnUsEd @BigMaths @HWRK_magazine @edutopia @BBC_Teach #pgde #nqtchat #strathpgde #mathscpdchat

What a great read and perspective!

Years ago, Ted Sizer urged us to shadow a high school student for at least a full day in order to really get a sense of what they experience. This teacher did so and was shaken by what she found: ow.ly/E5bum

Absolutely love this!

What a great perspective for kids.

Today we began to discuss how the books we read can be mirrors and windows (based on the work of Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop). We used @JackieWoodson’s The Day You Begin to start our conversation.

Love this and going to practice with my students each day

The simple things can make days much better... ☀️Smile at people you pass ☀️Encourage someone who is down ☀️Celebrate someone who succeeds ☀️Extend a helping hand ☀️Refrain from negative talk ☀️Find JOY in the little things ☀️Practice gratitude #JoyfulLeaders

"When you're down, don't listen to yourself. Talk to yourself." I love this idea/mindset. Thank you @JonDorenbos

Great opportunity to hear and see books out of one's comfort zone. Exposure.

A1: I do First Chapter Fridays where I read only the first chapter of a book; they beg me to read more. Really gets them into it #titletalk

I really needed this. #slowdown

Great reminder as we begin our year. My class loves to exercise to move to learn videos.

Exercise is the single best thing you can do for your brain in terms of mood, memory, & learning.

Congrats, you just hit the jackpot (the formative assessment one, that is): edut.to/1POcBhQ.
