So pleased that the share offer is going well even in the current #CoronaVirusChallenge

We have a new share offer out, to put solar on the roof of Braywick Leisure Centre. Interest 3-5% a year, minimum investment £100, closing date 31 March. Want to be part of it? shareoffer.maidenergy.coop

This is big picture stuff (I generally prefer miniatures) but well worth a read...

Some thoughts on the myth of silver linings, the strategically dumb speculation on green gains, and how nothing is certain about the eventual recovery. In the coronavirus crisis, everything rests on the choices we make. businessgreen.com/blog-post/4012…

The myth of silver linings

The coronavirus pandemic will change the world, but it is impossible to know how - the green economy must now strive to shape the new normal

Spread the word! It's a scandal that VAT is charged at a rate of 20% on repairs and maintenance on existing buildings, while VAT on nearly all new-build construction is zero-rated. The power of the massive house-building lobby. We must be encouraged to repair and retrofit!

Yesterday I get the great news that my planning application for two homes in West London was approved. Naturally, the first thing was to create a Twitter account for the project! @HanselGretelW13 (and, yes, there is a story behind the name 👫 ; )

I'm one!

New research shows that public support for the country becoming #carbon neutral is up 25% in 3 years. In fact, 9/10 Brits now place #carbonneutrality as a top priority! Are you one of them? Comment below & let us know your thoughts. Read on: ensvgtr.uk/AypLC

Really enjoyed meeting Rebbeca from @TheConsumerCode at the MCS stakeholders meeting. She was kind enough to be a guest on the @McsCertified Future Installer podcast series I hosted at @FuturebuildNow. Below, is when we both listened to @rippin_ian set out the new MCS's vision.

Unsurprisingly the government needs to get off is ass and actually do something to encourage retrofit! publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201719/cm…

From @edie ... Energy and Clean Growth minister Kwasi Kwarteng has claimed the Government is "absolutely committed" to exploring new support mechanisms for low-carbon heat in the UK once the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) expires in March 2021. edie.net/news/11/UK-Gov…

Great episode covering some of the issues and history of heat pumps (loved to idea of farmers and miners preferring ground source as they already have a relationship with the land). Always honest, Always revealing (1W = 1 J/s ; )

Interesting thread... I plan to do ASHP+Solar Thermal on my own house at "some point" in the future 🌞

From my (albeit short) time on Twitter, it does seem to be the case. Happy to be proved wrong of course! PS. Who should I get to Insulate my 1929 solid wall semi in West London?

Builders and craftsmen are the missing link in the sustainable retrofit agenda. They need more education on the use of eco materials and basic building physics yet they receive the least attention. It’s time for a change. - Marianne Suhr @asbp_uk #HealthyBuildings2020 #NetZero
