I tidied up the living room today because we were having a fridge delivered. The clear space was immediately taken over by a fridge-box fort! This is great. I’m always surprised how much a clean and clear space spurs creativity - for the adults, kids and cat alike! 🌟
A nice side effect of a tidy-ish living room is being able to host a teddy-bears picnic on a rainy day, even if the kids are all actually teenagers now

Can't clean up the whole room? Clean a corner of it. Can't do all the dishes? Do a dish. Can't get in the shower? Wash your face. Always look for the thing you CAN do, with the energy & focus you DO have. Little wins pave the way for bigger wins. 1% beats 0%.

I have a small family gathering coming up this weekend for my Mum’s birthday so I’m circulating through the house with @TeamUfYH’s 20:10s timer method. 20 minutes work, 10 minutes chill. unfuckyourhabitat.com/whats-a-2010/ This is exactly where my attention span is today.
Every so often, I'm reminded that there are people out there who think "Just stay on top of the cleaning! It's not hard!" is good cleaning advice. It's a good reminder that experiences and ability are not universal, and if someone's not "just" doing something, there's a reason.
I don't know what will happen 😱 There is nothing I can do about it 😨 This is just too big 😩 Uncertainty can get us down the rabbit hole of 'what if's'. It doesn't need to be that way.
