Pretty damn easy in most states, as it’s legal to purchase and possess syringes containing the spores, but illegal to actually grow them. I hear in moderate amounts they’re very promising for treating depression. Personally, I’m done with anything harder than weed.

That sounds like the antithesis of evidence-based medicine to me. What if the treatment is homeopathic? What if it's prayer? How would you design a clinical trial on the basis of response to therapy being a gold standard for diagnosis (when you need a diagnosis to treat)?
