Time for our cities to take a stand and flatly reject the fundamental constitutional infringements being dealt from the highest office that will needlessly inflict more pain on this already bruised nation.
Anyone, including federal law enforcement, who unlawfully assaults and kidnaps people will face criminal charges from my office. medium.com/philadelphia-j…
We have to do better... dismantle the system (police, prisons, probation, etc) and create a new one that works. We’ve failed Rayshard Brooks and all those like him. 🙏🏾
This is #RayshardBrooks, in his own words. In this heartbreaking interview filmed just four months ago, Brooks speaks about the agony of being trapped in a prison reentry and probation system that won’t let him get back on his feet.
June 15th – 21st is #MensHealthWeek! I encourage all of Pennsylvania’s men and boys to prioritize their health – physical and mental – so we can continue to get through this difficult time.
Sad that we can’t depend on government or public funding to protect our most vulnerable at this most vulnerable time. Thanks for stepping up @MeekMill #revolvinghope #criminaljusticereform

Science shows us that people serving long sentences can be safely released early, because they are overwhelmingly unlikely to reoffend. The time to act on this, to save lives & $$$ during a health & economic crisis, is now #COVID19
This moment calls for everyone with power to put the people before politics. That famous "Philly progressivism" is a damn lie if we don't do all we can to save our most vulnerable neighbors from #COVID19. 😷 up, ✊🏽 up.
The ACLU has sued the federal Bureau of Prisons, arguing that efforts to release inmates from a detention center in Oakdale, Louisiana, where five men have died from coronavirus, are moving too slowly cnn.it/2UL6E0K
Let’s not forget the 2.3 million #incarcerated Americans who are further threatened by the #coronavirus as a result of forced close contact and limited health resources. Our negligence is not part of their sentences.
...Americans has had a family member incarcerated.
After six days, the lockdown at the Metropolitan Correctional Center has finally been lifted. Read my letter with @NydiaVelazquez to the MCC and the Bureau of Prisons demanding that all relevant documents and records be preserved.
Respect to a "relentless social justice advocate" who also happens to be an outstanding athlete. Thank you, @MalcolmJenkins, for spending some extra time in southeastern PA last weekend. dailylocal.com/news/malcolm-j…
