News you can use to make a positive difference in the world.

Nothing brings humanity together in a spirit of helping one another like a shared crisis. If only we could have that spirit turned on at all times. Love. Compassion. Resilience. Connection. Storms like #HurricaneMelissa can show us who we truly are.

If you're wondering what you can do to help Jamaica as they prepare for the destruction coming due to #HurricaneMelissa, Global Empowerment Mission is one place you can give: globalempowermentmission.org/mission/hurric…

1 million people live in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, while nearly 3 million inhabit the whole island. They are bracing themselves for this beautiful monster of Mother Nature, #HurricaneMelissa

#Melissa will immensely impact lives, and will require aid to recover. Let’s be there for the people of Jamaica.

Crazy to think that a Category 4+ hurricane will be impacting Jamaica. The livelihood of so many will be forever impacted, this is a picture I took in January of 2024. These are the stores and homes of many people, and it’s just mere inches from the ocean at high tide.

Energy solutions are so obviously abundant. We have the means of providing cleaner, safer energy for everyone, we just need the will and policies to make it happen. 🌞

This is horrific and it's going to cause untold devastation. I worry not a lot of attention will be paid to it because it doesn't really threaten the United States. But please keep Jamaica and Cuba in your thoughts. They're going to need help.

In just 18 hours Melissa has rapidly intensified from a 70 MPH Tropical Storm to a 140 MPH Cat. 4 #hurricane. Forecast to a Cat. 5 before landfall in Jamaica Tuesday AM, this will likely be their worst on record. @RobertRayWx is live from Kingston on @foxweather & @FoxNews

Heartbreaking visible image of a potentially generational storm, and a likely reflection of broader trends—greater ocean warmth and depth of warmth, faster intensification rates, slower forward speeds, and greater rainfall rates. #Melissa

The beginning of Hurricane Melissa moving closer and closer to Kingston, Jamaica.

#HurricaneMelissa looks absolutely fierce as it slowly - very slowly - approaches Jamaica.

Stunning photo by Bryce, awaiting #HurricaneMelissa’s arrival in Jamaica.

Beautiful pre hurricane sunset this evening here in Kingston, Jamaica. Final preparations need to be rushed to completion as #Melissa approaches.

The Goal: Every human being should have enough food to eat. It is imperative we have and support the institutions working to make that goal a reality. 📣@WFP @WFPChief

Soon to be #HurricaneMelissa could be a massive storm event for Haiti. Here is video of intense flooding in Dominican Republic when Melissa was a tropical storm.

Humanity needs hope.
