Perhaps, one reason for this neglect has been the recurring idea that negative symptoms are indeed just that, i.e. a negative loss of normal functioning about which nothing more could be said that is possibly meaningful or clinically important. (2)

This is a thread about what it’s like to collaborate on numerous psychosis research projects, global & local in scope, as a researcher with (long term) psychosis. I think most of this is often completely missed by even the most well-intentioned collaborators. 1
Ik heb ook in de psychiatrie gewerkt en agressie van nabij meegemaakt. Mijn ervaring is dat als je beter aansluit er veel minder agressie is.
Wat een pijnlijk verhaal en de haren rijzen me ten berge. Ik heb als dochter mogen meemaken dat mijn vader psychotisch werd door zijn dementie. En ik heb met name zijn noodopname als traumatisch en onmenselijk ervaren. Het moet echt anders.
Erg belangrijk stuk. Ik heb het gedeeld met mijn verpleegkundestudenten, die nu en de komende jaren stage lopen in de GGZ en er misschien zelfs komen te werken.

Met best wel wat buikpijn besloot ik uiteindelijk ook mijn persoonlijke ervaring met dwang in de psychiatrie# de wereld in te slingeren. Als je iets herkent in mijn artikel, hoop ik dat je het wilt delen. dittyeimers.nl/genre/research…
Wat in de psychiatrie ook regelmatig gebeurt is dreigen met isolatie om mensen bang te maken of mensen isoleren om ze tot behandeling te dwingen, om ze 'een lesje te leren'. De hieruit voortvloeiende agressie heb ik geen medelijden mee en is echt voor rekening van de behandelaar.
