There’s nothing faithful about celebrating empire at your church service.
Some christians act like transphobia is part of the Apostles' Creed or something.
"You were never a Christian" is a phrase many in the church use to invalidate our experiences. The truth is, many of us deconstructing were seeking after God. But we found, through the church, was hate, misery and hypocrisy.
I can't believe there are Christian pastors who wonder why young people want nothing to do with religion anymore.

jesus said to love your neighbor and a lot of christians have spent the last 2,000 years questioning that
Let’s talk about that American flag some of us still have in the church sanctuary
This is so heartbreaking. Not only does this encourage abuse (restraining sinfulness, much like the Pearl's "to train up a child") but teaching your children, your own children, that they are evil to fear and dread God? This is child abuse, plain and simple.
Deconstruction is important because it gives those of us who were silenced a voice. It gives us hope.
