Glad that #CHI2024 brought back the Rejected Author stickers. Let's normalize it. Some dejection is fine, but remember it's an event, not your identity!
I am looking to talk/collaborate at #CHI2024 on health, AI and how patients can get the most out of technology for care. DM me or email me [email protected]

I've seen a lot of people asking "why does everyone think Twitter is doomed?" As an SRE and sysadmin with 10+ years of industry experience, I wanted to write up a few scenarios that are real threats to the integrity of the bird site over the coming weeks.
I'm in San Francisco, Boston, Montreal and Pittsburgh in the first 2 weeks of December. DM me if you want to meet up for work or just a coffee, talk HCI or health tech!
This is the crux of it. The reviewers and committee are being asked to “estimate” if it can be done in 5 weeks. How is that possible?
totally agree, I think sometimes reviewers do not have a good estimate what are the things could be done within five weeks.
Alright. I don't want to be held hostage by Elon. Find me tooting at Mastodon under @interfaceaddict@hci.social
Same. Argh.
#CHI2023 submission rejected. Really missing the rebuttal option this year, as a few sentences could have gone a long way in clarifying a few reviewer misunderstandings.
if you get a review that's all bullet pointy and grumpy just know that maybe, possibly, the author was operating at 2am on coffee fumes and panic.
Reviewing is exhausting. Y'all better be thanking your reviewers from the bottom of your hearts when you get a chance.
What the heck is User Acceptance Testing anyway? Users "accept" the tech and will not delete it? Is the bar that low?
