(1) On many issues, Scotland has less influence over UK policy than Luxembourg has over EU policy. (2) The EU has a population about a third larger than that of the USA. Luxembourg has a population slightly smaller than that of Glasgow.
An independent SCO would have a veto on all EU trade agreements which it does not have as part of UK. It would have a veto on the EU budget which it does not have at UK level. It would have a veto on EU taxation policy etc Although such powers would be used very exceptionally!
