Through my copywriting journey, I have been able to work with 9 businesses, I have retained my latest 4 clients for the past 3 months, they stay because of the phenomenal results my copy brings. but what happened with the other 5? Here is my cringeiest copywriting failure! 🧵
Confused people don't buy. BE RELATABLE - Not random BE SPECIFIC - Not vague BE CLEAR - Not wordy The best way to increase conversion rate is to decrease drop off rate.
Look at how you buy stuff. Notice the journey you go through. What makes you buy. When you make the decision. What objections you have. How they’re solved. Who solved them for you? That’ll teach you more about marketing than most marketing courses.
Like with any other CTA, make it contextually relevant to the piece of content that you're creating. So, instead of it being a distraction, it only makes sense - in terms of content consumption - to click that link.
Profitable landing page? Steps to follow: 1. Killer headline grabs attention. 2. Compelling lead keeps them scrolling. 3. Persuasive body copy engages. 4. Glowing testimonials build trust. 5. Powerful call to action seals the deal. Simple. Clean. Profitable.
I would give them to him for free and ask for an Instagram shoutout or something like that in return🤷
Meek Mill kept it real with the shoe vendor 😮💨
Pro copywriting tip: • Drink a ton of water • Wait till you REALLY have to pee • Read your copy. Found a place where you can stop and go pee? Rewrite that part. • Open a loop • Insert a question • Add a connector. Do whatever so your reader doesn’t find where to stop.
Want to get your first client? • Find 20 businesses. • Analyze their funnel. • Think about ways to improve. • Call them up and offer a free solution. 10 respond. 6 fuck you off. 4 give you a chance. 2 send you a testimonial. 1 pays you. It's not hard you're just lazy.
Everyone says, "Stories sell" Stories don't sell – stories make you hungry... Stories are like the smell of popcorn when you walk into the theatre. Stories: • Trigger an emotion • Activate your senses • Create a physical response So you can let your copy do the selling.
If self-promotion makes you feel queasy, then start more passive. Legendary social psychologist, Robert Cialdini's, “6 Principles of Persuasion” can help. Here's how you can use them to sell yourself (without being sales-y): justinwelsh.me/blog/how-to-se…
It’s 10x easier to write about something you ACTUALLY care about •The research process is funner than being on social media •You care more about your ideal customer and want to help them •The words just flow out seamlessly That’s why niche-ing can make or break your writing
Sometimes we can OVERRESEARCH We have so many ideas, that we struggle to choose one. The best way to deal with this? Write several peices of copy for each idea, then choose the best one.
Controversial Copywriting Take: I agree with not using commas. HOWEVER... Using ; instead just defeats the whole purpose😂
One of the simplest ways to write intriguing copy is to: Go from Point A (with the problem) to Point B (without problem) and make the reader wonder how you travelled. Then, tease the product as the transport mechanism.
Every copywriter remembers the day they got their copy ripped apart by a peer/reader. It sucks in the moment. But it's really what I needed to level up. If it weren't for that tough evening I would still be writing horrendous copy.
Some people just sit around a tree waiting for the fruit to fall, and whatever they can grab they'll gladly take, but they can never be counted on to do anything to actually support the tree. Avoid these people.
Not everything will happen exactly AS you want it WHEN you want it. The bright side is that GOD has bigger things in store than you could ever imagine.
The reason most copy sucks is that people are too egotistical to put themselves in someone else's shoes
Good copy motivates the reader to buy Great copy motivates the reader to change their life
The best mindset to have is being able to win with or without other people we must win regardless
