The more I think about this, the more disgusted I am. He was in intensive care himself with Covid. And still - STILL - this degree of spectacular selfishness.

We entered this pandemic with: 🔹 40k too few nurses 🔹 10k too few doctors 🔹 17k too few beds 🔹 A mere 4000 ICU beds The political choice to defund the NHS since 2010 is being paid in human lives 😔
To the porters, nurses, shelf stackers, cashiers, refuse collectors, doctors, bus drivers, midwives, cleaners, carers, paramedics, teachers, ward clerks and other key workers who stepped into the Covid streets and braved the Covid air for others - THANK YOU. Thank you all 💙🎄

It's clear that there is a certain type of person, a Boris-worshipper, who will forgive or turn a blind eye to pretty much anything Dominic Cummings does. A question for those people - if Sir Keir Starmer had behaved in the same way, would you be calling for his resignation? Yes!
This is me right now heading back into the covid ICU I’ve worked for the last two months. This stuff is hot and hard work. Haven’t seen my parents since January. Frankly, Cummings spits in the face of all our efforts, the whole #NHS. If he doesn’t resign, I will.
Basically, in the midst of an actual pandemic - with the death toll exceeding 55k already - the health secretary and prime minister have chosen to tear up vital public health messaging in order to save Dominic Cummings.
This is categorically untrue. Care homes were left without testing. Without contract tracing. Without PPE. Without support. You can deny it all you like, @MattHancock, but we were witnesses - we ARE witnesses - and believe me you will be held to account .

Today, what the government calls "a very large consignment" of hospital gowns will arrive in the UK. 400k of them. Yet the NHS is currently using 150k gowns a day. So this won't even last 3 days. And still they can't stop spinning. thetimes.co.uk/article/hancoc…

Why on earth *would* the public take this deadly seriously when @BorisJohnson keeps the pubs open, keeps the bars open & makes an off-the-cuff, evidence-free claim to the nation that: "we can turn the tide within the next 12 weeks." He's a one-man public health comms disaster.
What the NHS is crying out for is urgent govt action to address endemic understaffing: 43k too few nurses, 10k too few doctors. Plus the small matter of one of the lowest no of beds - and ITU beds - in Europe. The legacy of 10 yrs of brutal underfunding. bbc.com/news/uk-517902…
