You can't win with corporate centrists. A populist overperforms by (we'll see final numbers, but right now looks to be around) 15 points...and that's somehow evidence that a corporate centrist would have won, because something something. It's like arguing with my 4 year old.

I mean, their egos wouldn't allow them to, but Walden stans will be able to point to this as the time when they could have gained traction. But they'd need big business, wealthy donors, super PACs, and the GOP (willing to throw Sliwa under the bus) to coalesce to win.

Re elections in NYC: the scandal-ridden, non-viable candidates @andrewcuomo and @ericadamsfornyc need to clear the field so that @jimfornyc can take on @ZohranKMamdani one-on-one. Walden can beat him. There is not enough enthusiasm to get out the vote for Cuomo or Adams.
You can dig up tweets from March where I said Mamdani or another progressive had a shot because Cuomo is a terrible campaigner. But he still has to win a general electorate in November and non Democrats in the city are unforgiving when they show up to vote.
