Governor Murphy's budget plan pitches ending fees for clients of public defenders newjerseymonitor.com/2023/02/28/gov… via @DanaDiFilippo
Today, @GovMurphy committed to investments in harm reduction in the state budget. Budgets are moral documents. Harm reduction is moral drug policy. 🧡
We will continue our focused and data-driven fight against the epidemic of opioid abuse – a nearly $100 million investment that supports, importantly, the critical work of harm reduction centers, among so much more.
Another great day at work. I'm lucky to work for a Governor who understands and supports Harm Reduction. Thanks to @NJHarmReduction and your partners for all of your work to get this over the finish line.
Today, I signed a legislative package to expand harm reduction efforts. These bills will strengthen our ability to save lives and further our commitment to ending the opioid crisis in New Jersey.
Today @GovMurphy became the first New Jersey governor to mention harm reduction in the #NJSOTS address. And these words are backed by action. @GovMurphy, thank you for investing in & supporting harm reduction.
Over the past four years, we’ve: 🌎Enacted the nation’s strongest environmental justice law 🗳️Expanded and protecting voting rights ⚖️Started down the long path of true criminal justice reform 💊Focused on a data-driven effort to combat the opioid-use epidemic #NJSOTS
A bill to codify a woman's right to choose into state law and expand access to reproductive health care for all just passed both houses of the Legislature. I will sign this bill into law this week. With Roe v. Wade under attack, the need for this bill is more urgent than ever.
President Biden quietly extended a policy that critics call a betrayal of his campaign promise to end mandatory minimum sentences. The measure could land more low-level drug dealers in prison for longer and with less proof than is usually required. trib.al/YXNFp5y
Everyone meet our new union leaders comrade Joe and comrade Riley #bachelorinparadise
Survivors are not your props. We are not your political pawns. To use me as such, without my consent, is disrespecting survivors. It is disrespecting women. Take note @Jack4NJ and Diane Allen.
In a new article in the @StanfordLaw Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, @miriamkrinsky & @JSButler1985 discuss "21 Principles for the 21st Century Prosecutor," a blueprint that has helped shape policies in prosecutors’ offices across the country: law.stanford.edu/publications/2…
💥HUGE NEWS💥 @GovMurphy & @LtGovOliver called on legislative leaders to modernize NJ's restrictive syringe access law. This would expand & protect syringe access in ALL towns, including @AtlanticCityGov, where the fight to #SaveOasis continues. nj.gov/governor/news/…
Great thread encouraging nuanced readings of the new Census data:
Stray Census thought #2: It's not enough to say NJ is getting more diverse. The diversity is also more complex than simpler racial categories, and that complexity may also create unpredictable results.
The greatest thing about every single NJ town. Yes, all 565 municipalities. My epic series, months in the making, starts Monday. Here's what it's all about: nj.com/entertainment/…

Coming soon: The greatest thing about every single N.J. town
Yes, really, the greatest thing about all 565 towns in the Garden State!
Love it when my old job shouts out my new one.😃
New Jersey is turning to restorative—not punitive—approaches to juvenile justice. Community-based services, like employment help and mentoring, and restorative justice hubs will invest in our young people and their futures. More from @nj1015: nj1015.com/nj-to-try-rest…
BREAKING: Our collective #150YearsIsEnough advocacy led NJ to pass legislation reinvesting 8.4 million of NJ’s youth prison budget into restorative justice programs in Camden, Newark, Paterson & Trenton. Proud to partner w/ @GovMurphy, @LtGovOliver, @ASWReyJackson & @SandSJ_NJ!
This is really lovely. I'm a firm believer in the power of camp, and this is a real testament to that.
Oh! A superhero movie I am actually looking forward to...
The celebrated artist Kerry James Marshall is working on a visual Black superhero narrative, which will become the basis for an animated film, and then a live-action feature film. “My goal is to match the iconic level of ‘Star Wars,’ ” he said. nyer.cm/VVO7Kw5
I was wondering about this...
“Bruce Springsteen respectfully declined to have a service area named after him," NJ Hall of Fame spokeswoman Natasha Alagarasan told the Record's @Colleenallreds northjersey.com/story/news/tra…
