Every single one of these waders is now on the UK Red List of Conservation Concern ⚠️ Rising sea levels and habitat loss are just some of the threats they face. On #WorldShorebirdsDay, share this post and drop your favourite wader in the comments 👇

The tentacles of COVID-19 continue to disrupt and challenge in many ways, including forcing this 28th IOCongress online. Not what Durban had originally hoped, but making the most by getting out and about while attending @InternOrniUnion @io_congress @EnvEast

Stork throws one of its babies out of the nest 😬 This isn't uncommon in storks: They have more offspring than they can care for then get rid of the weakest hatchling. "Brood reduction" is found in many birds, but usually it's siblings that do the deed. bit.ly/3nre5q5

That time of year when I can at last get around to adding a few more micro ponds to our scrubland site. Early stages yet but this micro plastic pond will be a haven for wildlife in the coming months & fingers crossed, a vital drinking site for our turtle doves!! @SaveTurtleDoves

Never seen anemones on a mudflat before, they seem to have colonised pools formed in my footprints.
