Bluntly put, but accurate. It's been so frustrating to watch this play out.
Science didn't collapse. It was hijacked. By people who don't read data. By people who don't run experiments. By people who don't even know how science works. But they write the headlines. Sit on the panels. Shape the rules. And now real scientists have to play defense.
For what it's worth, I would MUCH rather my taxes go toward paying for my neighbor's healthcare than toward bombing Venezuela.

ADHD is the specific condition where sending one email feels like climbing Everest, but if a literal emergency happens, I suddenly transform into a calm, highly efficient tactical commander. I cannot function in peace. I was built for the apocalypse.
In my experience, this is QUITE accurate (for both ADHD meds and caffeine).
Neurotypicals taking ADHD meds: "I'M SO WIRED! I'M SPEED!" Me with ADHD taking my meds: "Oh cool. The 50 screaming tabs in my brain just closed and now I can read my email." We are not the same.
