We’ve been informed by the Governor’s Department of Finance that it won’t agree before our legislative session ends (on Friday) to finalize a $750M bridge loan to Bay Area transit. This loan was agreed to in our June budget. Without it, BART, Muni, et al will cut service.🧵
The tsunami warning has been cancelled. Service restoration is in progress.
The tsunami Warning is canceled for the coastal areas of California and Oregon. No tsunami danger presently exists for this area. This will be the final U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center message for this event. Refer to tsunami.gov for more information.
OPINION: "Just as the transformation of Crissy Field could not begin until after the decision to make it a park, the future of the Great Highway depends on the passage of Proposition K," Michael Boland and Willet Moss write. trib.al/mvRPCTa

SF is known for its iconic parks. Prop K transforms a failing road into a brand-new park that protects the environment and allows all SF residents to connect with the beautiful California coast. Vote Yes on K. Learn more in the #SPURVoterGuide, out Oct 8 shorturl.at/bjskS
It is hard to believe this is it. Today is the final A’s home game in Oakland. We are running 8 car trains on several lines and will have 6 event trains for after the game. BART and the Athletics have been intertwined since 1972. Let's take a stroll down memory lane 🧵⬇️

The Oakland A’s were killed by greed. Do not allow the people responsible for this to spin it any other way. John Fisher did not have to move this team. Major League Baseball and its owners did not need to be complicit in it. This was a choice. A wrong one. History will sneer.
The @sfchronicle is the paper of record in San Francisco, and having the Chronicle’s endorsement is not only a huge honor — it’s a big boost for our campaign!

In an attempt to smear immigrants at the southern border, Trump makes another false claim, that noncitizens are voting in U.S. elections. Once again, this is not true. 🧵#Debate2024
Trump continues to double down on anti-immigrant fear-mongering with the egregious claim that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Illinois are eating cats and dogs. There are no credible reports of immigrants harming pets, according to local officials. #PresidentialDebate
Trump claimed there are “millions of people pouring into our country from prisons and jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums.” First things first: this is false. There's no evidence that criminals are crossing the southern border on this scale. nytimes.com/2023/12/24/us/…
ENDORSEMENT: Prop L won’t save Muni single-handedly, but faced with the coming armada of driverless ride-hailing companies, it’s an opportunity that can’t be missed, the Chronicle editorial board writes. trib.al/PpkLANY
