THIS. I am a tech person and I love incorporating it in my classroom, but I miss face to face interaction. #DeafEd
It has pushed me to be more creative and self-sufficient, but it has also reminded me how much I thrive on being in the classroom. I miss my people. #DeafEd
Q4: The sky is the limit when you can create your own dice. What ways could you include these in your content area? #games4ed
A3 (chat crossover answer): Could be jumping off points for creating new and silly words. Could then be used to explore grammar, story, etc. The dice would be great with our Ss who are still learning American Sign Language to practice letters and handshapes. #games4ed #DeafEd
Q3: Dice don't have to be restricted to numbers. What uses could you have with an alphabet die in your classroom? #games4ed
A6: Resources and Support come from some amazing staff members, of which @ThisIsNYCarlos is a huge proponent. Also, EdChats like this are invaluable. I've learned so much from folx that I find here who become part of my PLN. #DeafEd
A2: I'm teaching art, theatre, and game theory this year. Story dice could be the components of a work of art or a scene. It would be interesting to have a game created that somehow incorporates elements from the dice. #games4ed
A5: Oh, @Schoology has been crucial for me for connection with Ss, especially for asynchronous learning. @zoom_us is my go to for synchronous learning. #DeafEd
A1: Oh, dear gods, I haven't used dice in my classroom yet, but it's gonna happen this year. Game Theory class is happening. I love some good dice though - D&D DM nerd here. #games4ed
I am working on two different chats tonight and thrilled to be back with #games4ed. How I've missed you. Jared here, NYC, Teacher/Director/Tech Dude, and the best thing that happened to me this week was a haircut!
A4: Google is still my go to for peer work. Group projects become so much easier when multiple people can work on the same document/slideshow/spreadsheet at the same time. I also love me a good @padlet. #DeafEd
A3: Definitely using video features as much as possible, not only as instructions but as possibilities for submissions. Student choice = student voice. Some Ss prefer to sign & some prefer to type. Offering options allows them to feel comfortable working w/ material. #DeafEd
A1: @Schoology is my main go to, and I use a lot of gaming stuff, but @Flipgrid has been wonderful and I love the layouts of @padlet. #DeafEd
