The 69th annual all-state chorus and orchestra event was held in Rapid City Oct. 29-30. Students representing SC were Racheal Runge, Katelynn Axtell, Hayden Roggow, and Riley Runge. The students performed under the direction of Dr. Russell Svenningsen from Augustana University.

Pierre Fire extinguished a fire early this morning in a large garage complex with eight units. Heat damage to the unit involved with fire. Smoke damage throughout. Firefighters were able to revive a dog in one of the units which initially was unresponsive due to smoke inhalation.

Pierre Rural extinguished a fire 10 miles east on Hwy 34 early this morning. The fire burned down a chicken coupe and also caught a 10 x 20 shed on fire. A heating lamp is likely the cause.
