I still kept one of my tech writing clients, I'm just multi-tasking
If I had a nickel for every time I knew a software developer that became a farmer, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it's happened twice. (Seriously. I worked with someone years ago who did that)
Good move! Nobody wants to admit it but dev jobs are just not there anymore.
