Several hundred users have been successfully migrated to 8.0 from 5.7 and these upgrades will continue over the month of February. Users whose database objects have compatibility issues with 8.0 will be contacted again via email before the upgrade is completed.

Due to MySQL version 5.7 reaching End of Life (EOL), users will no longer be able to create new databases on this version using our service. Existing servers will be upgraded to 8.0 over the coming months. More information to follow.

The maintenance is complete and we are back online for provisions!

Our API interfacing with Heroku is going down for some quick maintenance. We expect to be back shortly.

🦈Beginning October 15th, servers running MariaDB 10.2 will be updated to 10.3 during their next maintenance window. Action may be needed to ensure your app continues running as expected on the new version. See the link for more info. mariadb.com/kb/en/changes-…

We are currently making improvements to our service, User Dashboards, and infrastructure. One of these changes affects how existing bookmarks to public Databites function. Please see the announcement below. 🌊 jawsdb.com/announcements/…

The Documentation page on our website has been updated. See anything missing? Feel free to suggest improvements. We want the Docs to be as helpful as possible! 🦈 jawsdb.com/docs

The website server migration is over and jawsdb.com is back online.

Our website is moving hosts and may be down temporarily. This is only our web-facing site and no database servers are affected.

Upgrades for MariaDB 10.0 and 10.1 servers will happen tonight as per our email notifications. If you experience issues, please reach out to us at [email protected]

JawsDB Dashboards have been stable for the past few hours. Issue appears to have been connected to a hiccup with connected services. We will continue to monitor over the coming days.

The application serving our dashboard page is currently experiencing errors. An update will be posted here when the issue is resolved.

MySQL version 8.0 is the default version for all new provisions of MySQL on JawsDB 🦈 Existing users of version 5.7 are not affected, but those on plan-types Whitetip and higher can request an in-place upgrade to 8.0 anytime! jawsdb.com/announcements/…

To clarify, the updates will be scheduled for each server's final maintenance window in February.
