I've been a firefighter/paramedic, fitness trainer, business owner, ship's doctor, life insurance salesman, high ticket closer and more. One thing is always the same: Integrity Matters. Every time. All the time.

Leaders who demonize quiet team members quite often talk too much.

Chewing off a candy cane just to get away? Hmm… sounds like the morning after to me.

Everyone is ethical until they need to be.

Company: "We encourage honest feedback & discourse - it's the only way we can truly cultivate authentic success." Same Company: "We're letting you go - it just seems you don't align with our vision."

Beginning to wonder if "ethics" is the makeup motivational gurus put on before getting on stage.

Coming to the stark conclusion that no one is actually interested... in anything... other than a way to their own interests.

Surprisingly many of the "big boys" don't understand/have forgotten the basics. Just because you can promise bigger than most does not mean you can "get away" with lackluster delivery. Trust over volume. Ethics over enrollments. Quality over quantity. Ownership over blame.

Doing the right thing still matters. #spikeleeknew

Tip of the Day: Don't Be A Lame-Ass. If you find that offensive be sure to reread until no longer offended.

Whenever you feel like you "just can't catch a break," come back and read this excerpt from my book "Speech Therapy." Again and again. And, if this helps you, share it with a friend.

When your back is against the wall remember these 3 things: 1. Integrity Matters - Even when you're down and out (especially, actually). 2. Tune out the Noise - Only you know what you're truly facing, ignore the peanut gallery. 3. Take Action - The only way forward is forward.

Complacency is a virus, and those who have it will pass it on to you if you allow it. Not through coughing or close contact, but through conversations and opinions that lack creativity and substance. Wear protection around these people — headphones work best.

Script read and initial prep for a project... how odd it was to do this at a park I used to hold fitness boot camp sessions at. Good times! facebook.com/jimhorningfanp…
