What is it with the second episode of a What If season being radioactive turboshit
Are we supposed to feel bad for Agatha because she lost a baby, as if that same episode didn’t reveal that she murdered potentially thousands more innocent people out of selfishness? Why would Billy forgive her for getting Alice, Lilia, and Sharon killed?
They never explained why Lilia cast the sigil. They never explained how Lilia knew to warn Agatha about the sink. Losing the spellbook went nowhere. The conversation in the recording booth went nowhere. They bullshitted a reason for Teen to throw Jen and Lilia off the road.
The twist makes Lorna Wu better, since before, it seemed she spent her life searching for the road while refusing to get a real coven. However, it does mean she essentially remixed row, row, row your boat and then released it to 40 million album sales.
The Salem Seven basically go nowhere. They’re only in the story to give Lilia her ending. They do absolutely nothing else of consequence. They had no personalities and the thinnest of motivations, and now they’re just dead.
Also, the black heart went nowhere. Either it represents Rio, who doesn’t get a trial, or it represents Billy, who isn’t a green witch. They didn’t need a green witch at all; they just wanted excuses for shitty Mrs Davis comedy and for Aubrey Plaza to be in the story.
I’ll try this again. Puss in Boots encourages you not to fear death, but to make the most out of your life. Agatha reinforces the idea that you have control to when your time comes. Not only is it immature, but it’s possibly one of the worst takes on death you can imagine. Shame.
A friendly reminder that this makes literally zero sense in hindsight. This was just there to get you intrigued for the next product they’re selling.
