When I was in seminary, the dynamic noticeably changed when a woman was in the class. I have no issue with women being theologically competent, but I don't think seminary is the route for this. Seminary should be for men preparing to preach the Word. Period.

while i'm on the subject: "The identity of Artemis in first-century Ephesus" "The first-century Ephesian Artemis: ramifications of her identity" Same author, same journal, same year, mostly the same words in the titles . . . two different articles. This has caused some confusion.

i solemnly swear i will never publish a chapter in a volume in a sub-series of a series with subtitles at every level and multiple editors

darn it. all the long titles and epic subtitles and series and multiple authors and editors really make a dent in your word count. gonna have to start excluding scholarship from my essay based on the length of the bibliographic entry

Blessed are the yoghurt lid recyclers, for they will inherit the earth.

Some 100 private jets will fly to Venice for Jeff Bezos' wedding, and I recycle yoghurt cup lids.

book recommendations wanted please: what are the key important eco-theology / creation care books / resources that a theological library should have in stock?

My preorder copy finally just arrived today. Here is a line from the introduction that perfectly captures why a book like this one is important in biblical studies: (1/3)

has anyone written an introductory undergrad level explainer on NPP and Paul within Judaism contrasting their approach to each other and to "Old perspectives" maybe with some examples?? I feel like I need to write one myself, but don't want to reinvent the wheel?
