Christianity has been revolutionary for different reasons @ different points in history. I think the most subversive tenet of Xianity today is selflessness. To die to self in a world that orients us entirely around the centrality of the self is nothing short of cultural rebellion

We only have a certain amount of time, attention, & resources. If we devote them to being anti-culture, we cannot devote them to forming healthy culture. We're passing along something, to be sure. But it's not the gospel. It's not a sustainable faith.

I was asked to recommend a “life-alteringly significant” book for the @RedeemerUniv student summer reading list. I chose @TheAlanNoble’s You Are Not Your Own. Below is the “blurb” I wrote on why:

I have to say "no" to requests many, many times a day. Almost always people are understanding. They often say, "I know you are very busy." The truth is I am NOT very busy. I try not to be busy at all. But in order for that to be true, I have to say "no" many, many times a day.

"...it wasn't just anyone who humanity put to death on the first Good Friday. It was Jesus Christ, God in human flesh."⁣ ⁣ In our #tb article, Jonny explores how the cross doesn't just tell us about God, it also shows something about us... bit.ly/3wnL8zK

I worked hard on my first 'long read' for Heirs, where I dig into how (and whether!) personality analyses help us as we seek to follow God in living the Christian life.

You may already know if you're an ENFJ or an enneagram 2, or maybe you resist these labels, or you're very confused right now!⁣ ⁣ Kate asks what's up with personality tests like Myers Briggs and the enneagram? And are they spiritually healthy?⁣⁣ ⁣ bit.ly/3vS67dT
