Yay...forest garden site left unmown...bit of maintenance and we are away #NewTerm

So the nursery wants to mow the long grass 'meadow' area of the forest school site flat because they think there are mice there #habitat

The realisation has just hit me that I only have 2 weeks before forest school sessions start again #NotPrepared

I have been given access to the most fantastic area of 'purpose built' meadowland right next to the Forest garden #BigSmilesAllRound

Sometimes I have to admit that there are only do many bear hunts I can go on in one day #WereGoingOnABearHunt

Spent a happy morning cutting grass with scissors #DontAsk :-)

Ground duly softened and hole now dug ready for ceremonious planting of jubilee tree tomorrow :-)

Digging hole to plant jubilee tree...best bit was line of children fetching and carrying buckets of water to soften ground worker ants style

Got an extra day in the Forest Garden this week and next. I fancy doing an activity that is worthy of its own risk assessment :-)

Another day in the Forest Garden yesterday.Very wet, so had the usual debate/reluctance from staff to let children out #ExperienceTheRain

Was it the theoretical or practical side that was the most challenging for you? #ForestSchoolTraining

Finally got round to starting my blog. My first post is up kateintheforest.wordpress.com/2012/04/17/for… What was your Forest School Leader training experience like?

Strangely enjoyed the hail too :-) #WhateverTheWeather

Had a lovely afternoon erecting willow screening in the forest garden #TheLittleThingsMakeIt
