Thank you. When Vanuatu was hit by a devastating earthquake, these Australians didn’t hesitate to help. Medical, search and rescue and other specialised teams were immediately on the ground in Port Vila, to support those in need and keep Australians safe.
Australia is providing an additional $5 million in practical humanitarian assistance to the people of Vanuatu following Tuesday’s tragic earthquake. Our emergency rescue and medical teams were proud to deploy to Port Vila so quickly after the earthquake. Their work continues.

Today’s earthquake has impacted the Australian High Commission’s communication systems. For 24-hour emergency consular assistance, call +61 6261 3305 from overseas or 1300 555 135 in Australia. We are working closely with the Vanuatu Government on an assistance operation.
