Apt neighbor had a pipe burst. My entire living room and kitchen is flooded. And now we don’t have water. Day three without power/heat in freezing temperatures somehow just got worse.
Reading political hot takes about the utility failure in Texas. Surviving in my Austin apartment, 38F indoors, no heat no power for over two days. Having a hard time seeing my phone because I can’t help but see my breath. Grounding me in a way I won’t soon get up from.
Very on brand for republicans to blame power outages in a state that they run entirely on the Green New Deal proposed by democrats that hasn’t even been voted on yet let alone taken effect.
Day 2 of not having power/heat. It was 8F outside, and it’s gotten down to 38F in the house. My pups are struggling. We’ll make it through, but this is nightmarish.
The debate Democrats should be having is how much *more* we should be helping people this year, not how much less.
